Disney World raised some of their ticket prices today in anticipation of the upcoming season. For those of us loyal visitors, this is certainly not a surprise. In fact, Disney World has raised its ticket prices every year since 1987. And, they're getting more creative with how they're doing it. Three years ago we saw them introduce "demand based pricing". This only affected single day tickets and the price on the ticket fluctuated depending on the time of year it was going to be used. Then, 8 months ago on October 16th, we saw the implementation of "date based pricing". This is a little trickier since it affects all their tickets (e.g. 4-Day tickets, 10-Day tickets, etc.). Visitors were given a unique price dependent on the day a ticket was going to be used, what it was going to be used for, and a two day range of when the ticket must be first used.
So, is there any good news.? If so, what is it?
Answer - Yes!
First, this ticket only affects the annual pass holders (our apologies to annual pass holders). Platinum Annual Passes, which are good year round and offer access to all parks, will go up 20% for Florida Residents and 25% for non-Florida Residents.
Second, these price increases are certainly in response to all the building, development, and creation that Disney's Imagineers and workers have been putting in and achieving. There's a ton of amazing new attractions and rides opening this year (Disney World's New Attractions in 2019). These include:
Star Wars : Galaxy's Edge
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad
Transformation of Epcot
All New Nighttime Spectacular
Guardians of the Galaxy Blast in
Additionally, let's not forget that we're not only talking about the Magic Kingdom being the most visited theme park IN THE WORLD IN 2018, but all four Disney World major theme parks made the top 10!
1. Magic Kingdom
6. Disney's Animal Kingdom
8. Disney's Hollywood Studios
